plus i think it's more cultural thing.. or how close you're to the person that he won't mind you call him that... but in general, many people find the word offensive...

just be careful when and where to use it... 'cuz u don't wanna get beaten up by someone... :)

I think that it's a private matter. In my opinion, the reason why brothas say "nigga" is because it's in rap lyrics, and no one wants to not be kewl by NOT saying "nigga". Personally, I don't say it because it was a name invented by racist ass white folks back in the day to my ancestors who were slaves. I guess many rap artists believe that if one says nigga, then it a sense, one is changing the term to one of admiration, but in reality, this is false.

Yeah...that's controversial. I must admit that it is a word I would never use and never will. I think it's only acceptable in certain groups and in certain situations.
