Sometimes people do stupid things, ridiculous things, crazy things, funny things, and off course sometimes just dumb things. I think my action is best put under a new category: "blonde things". Seriously I should dye my hair or something.

It was last week, trying to get my pc sorted out, had already a rough week, because you know why. So my dvd burner decided to die aswell. But I didn't notice until after I wasted like 3 dvdroms. So that came really at a good time NOT. So wen't to the shop, funny thing really, if anything breaks, you won't find me buying a new one for at least 3 months after, buuuut if it's anything for my pc, I rush to the shops immediately.

Anyways arrived, checked the prizes and looked for the cheapest one I could find, spotted one, grabbed the burner and bought it. At home installed the little fecker, and wanted to burn with the new toy. Inserted a disc, opened up a burnprogram....when suddenly the message: "can't find burntools" appeared. "WTF?" And I formatted and reinstalled my pc that day so I was quite mad as I didn't feel like installing it again. Checked every option, updated drivers, changed jumper settings and more of the high tech mumbo jumbo. I tried posting my problem on various messageboards, when I got the idea to check the box for a installation CD. Smart me.

Or not. Grabbed the box, turned it around and noticed what I'd bought.......a normal cd player. Doh.

i'd have checked the cd burner/cd player before formatting my computer lol

As Anonymuis was saying, can you exchange it for a DVD burner, or get a refund? I hope that they can understand your situation.
